Meet our co-pastors!
Bp. Nancy L. Meyer
Priestly ordination: 2010, RCWP Episcopal (bishop) ordination: 2014, RCWP MA, Spirituality, Creighton University |
Bp. Nancy L. MeyerFounder, co-pastorNancy has lived her life in service to the Catholic Church. She first experienced her first call to priesthood as a child in prayer. With priesthood not being an option, she followed the clearest path to serve her church as a girl, transitioning from an all-girls Catholic school into the convent at the age of 17. During her ministry as a Sister of St. Francis, she was enlivened by the spirit of Vatican II. She taught in secondary schools and held many leadership positions, including those of vocation director, postulant director, and associate vocation director for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. For the greater part of her career (25 years), Nancy served as pastoral associate for a Roman Catholic parish, where she enjoyed working with RCIA, marriage preparation, women's spirituality, Sudanese refugee outreach, and offering spiritual direction. Nancy left the convent more than a decade before she retired from parish work. She has continued to work as a spiritual director, was ordained a priest in 2010 through Roman Catholic Women Priests, and ordained bishop in 2014. In that same year, Nancy co-founded what we now know as Brownsburg Inclusive Catholic Community. We started as a home church that has grown from year to year. Following the desire of the community, we now gather for public worship and all are welcome!

Rev. Angela M. Nevitt Meyer
Priestly ordination: 2021, RCWP MA Religion: Biblical Studies, Earlham School of Religion, Mind-Body Medicine Practitioner Certification: Center for Mind-Body Medicine |
Rev. Angela M. Nevitt MeyerCo-PastorAngela has lived her life in love with the Gospel. She grew up in a small town in central Illinois, where she was proud to be made one of the first female altar servers in her diocese in the 1980s. From as far back as she can remember, Angela dreamed of 'giving her all' to God through service to her church, the Catholic Church. She thought at first that might mean entering a convent, but it soon became clear that would not be her path. Angela married in 2003, became a mom in 2006, and continued to have dreams of serving her church - dreams that seemed to have no outlet. Angela's path winds down all the roads that might seem to lead away from priesthood (if gender wasn't enough), breaking all the boundaries and taboos of the church. Divorced, remarried (interreligious), queer, trauma survivor. But God didn't let go, and Angela didn't give up. She pursued her long desired seminary education at Earlham School of Religion, where she felt encouraged to explore Catholic feminist and liberation theologies and wrote her thesis: "Encountering Eve, the Mother of All That Lives: A feminist liberation theology informed exegesis of Gen 1-3." Angela brings a passion for liturgy and breaking open scripture in new ways. She loves leading shared homilies at Mass, where the presiders preach, but more importantly the community participates and adds their own reflections. When she is not co-pastoring, Angela works full time at an urban hospital and enjoys life with her husband and kids.
